Emergency medical care is very important in the primary sector of Bangladesh. When an emergency patient is referred to a primary care physician, it will be possible to send the emergency patient to the right place at the right time if the primary care physician has practical training in emergency medicine.

The Society for General Medical Physicians of Bangladesh has taken steps to train primary physicians in the field of emergency medicine. In the meantime, many primary physicians have taken part in the training.
